Summary
This website is a static educational publication. As currently configured, it does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers, social-media widgets, embedded third-party scripts, user accounts, comments, or data-collection forms.
Information we collect
Information you give us
The site has no message-submission forms or user accounts, and no verified public contact channel is currently configured. Our search boxes filter the local article library rather than deliver messages.
Server logs
Like most websites, the web server that hosts this site may automatically record technical information about requests, such as IP address, date and time, requested page, browser type, and referring page. Hosting providers typically use these logs for security, troubleshooting, and operating the service. Retention and handling of those logs are determined by the hosting provider.
Local search
The article search and topic filter run entirely in your browser. Typing into the article-directory search box does not send your search terms to a search service. If you submit the homepage search box, your search term is placed in the address of the articles page (for example, ?q=backups) and may appear in hosting server logs as part of the requested address. Submitting the directory form without JavaScript also sends its query in the requested address; without JavaScript, all articles remain listed rather than being filtered.
Cookies
We do not set cookies. Your browser may store ordinary cached copies of pages and files to speed up your visits.
Third parties
We do not share visitor information with advertisers or data brokers. Pages link to some external websites, such as U.S. government resources; those sites have their own privacy practices and we are not responsible for them. We do not load fonts, scripts, or images from third-party servers.
Changes to this policy
If we add analytics, advertising, forms, newsletters, or any other feature that collects information, we will update this policy before or when that feature goes live and revise the effective date above.
Your choices and rights
We do not maintain user accounts or profiles. Hosting logs may contain personal information such as IP addresses. Residents of some U.S. states have privacy rights under state law. This site is intended for a general adult audience and does not knowingly collect information from children.
