Purpose

Our purpose is to help readers understand and improve how they work. Content is created for readers first, not to attract clicks, and is not designed to imitate or redirect traffic from any software publisher's official resources.

Originality

Articles are written for this publication. We do not copy or lightly rewrite text from other sources, and we do not publish thin or repetitive pages made to capture search traffic.

Accuracy and sourcing

  • We prefer explaining durable concepts over fast-changing interface details, because menus, plan limits, and defaults change frequently.
  • Where we describe specific behavior of a product, we try to verify it against that product's official documentation and tell readers to confirm details for their own plan and version.
  • Where we reference guidance from public agencies, such as the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency or the Federal Trade Commission, we name the source.
  • We distinguish between established practice, our own recommendations, and opinion.

Independence and disclosure

  • We do not accept payment, free products, or other consideration in exchange for coverage.
  • We do not claim affiliation with, or endorsement by, any vendor.
  • We do not publish reviews, testimonials, ratings, or user experiences that we cannot substantiate, and we do not fabricate them.
  • If we ever carry advertising or sponsored content, it will be labeled and kept separate from editorial content.

Scope limits

We provide general education. We do not provide legal, tax, medical, financial, regulatory-compliance, or individualized technical advice, and we do not offer product support. Articles that touch on regulated areas, such as record retention or data breach obligations, tell readers to consult qualified professionals.

Structure and accessibility

Each article has a descriptive title, a concise introduction, logical headings, practical examples, and a conclusion, and discusses both advantages and limitations of the approaches it describes. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA and welcome reports of barriers.

Updates

An article's “last updated” date changes only when its substance has been reviewed or revised, not for cosmetic edits. Substantive corrections follow our corrections policy.
